The start of a new year, January is often seen as a month of new resolutions and a time to sort your life out. Whether this happens or not is often down to an individual’s resolve but it’s a common theme for the first month of a year and a common theme running through this trio of films that make-up our ‘Best of the Month’ list.
From trying to make some cash as a freelance filmmaker to having sex for the first time since childbirth and getting your life back on track after your marriage goes off-the-rails, these three films are all about trying to make some changes in your life.

As a footnote – a personal favourite of mine from our featured films of January was Christopher Walken’s Coffee Shop – an improvised, animated short which sees the titular actor open-up his own coffee shop. I still laugh just thinking about this short.
